The Bucket List!

Hello! It’s almost been a month where KAS Art Studio has been open to purchase prints and commissions and I’m not actually sure where it’s gone.

Describing September as busy is a bit of an understatement; my three kiddies have returned to school so it’s back to reading, homework, uniforms and packed lunches (ugh!), my Etsy shop opened and there’s been a few sales which has been fantastic, and I finished the commission of twelve pet portraits for Pets on the Parade. Here they are laid out, once they are in situ, I’ll pop some photos on my website and Instagram.

I also visited the Contemporary Arts Fair at Sandown racecourse and spoke to some of the talented artists who were so helpful in their advice and answering my many questions! I’m currently thinking of applying to exhibit there in March 2023 – I will keep you posted!

After visiting and talking to the artists at the Art Fair I felt excited and to be honest a little overwhelmed at the thought of exhibiting. It would be amazing to display my work, talk to people about it and let’s be honest, sell a few pieces.

However, what if I didn’t sell anything? What if no one wanted to talk to me? Or someone was negative about my work? Then I reminded myself 2022 has been a huge learning curve; building a website, ordering prints of my work and opening an Etsy Shop,  and now here I am, feeling proud and incredibly happy I took the chance. This led me to think of my ‘Bucket List’; things that I would love to do, see and achieve. Some of these might feel a little overwhelming now, others may never happen, but it’s important to have those aspirations and dreams even if they change over time. So, no judgement, and in no particular order, here are ten of them:

1)   Exhibit at an Arts Fair (March 2023???)

2)   Visit the MOMA, New York

3)   Exhibit overseas

4)   Illustrate a book

5)   Attend a painting or drawing course (or both!) at the Royal Academy!!!

6)   Design/illustrate for a well-known brand

7)   Go to Italy on an Art retreat

8)    Road trip in a different country with my sketchbook, pens and paints

9)   My original art framed and hung in customers’ homes

10)  Run a marathon

My question to you, is what is on your bucket list?
